Gear Patrol backs Venn's mission to inspire movement and reverse society's slide into sedentarism
Our earlier emails and messages that Work From Home is Here to Stay ring ever more true as the days and weeks go by. Cabin fever is at an all-time high by our anecdotal surveys. At Venn, we are inspired to help you reverse tech-neck and get up and off the couch with regular movement throughout your workday. You don’t have to eschew beds or traditional chairs in entirety like some of our more practiced followers do – even 5 minutes of movement here and there throughout your day can go a long ways to keeping your blood flowing and your creativity and motivation at a sustainable peak.
This November we are thrilled to share that Gear Patrol saw fit to put a spotlight on Venn’s mission to inspire movement and reverse society’s slide into sedentarism. There is no one perfect way to sit for proper ergonomics. It is Venn’s belief that regular varied movement throughout the day coupled with active, lifted posture in alignment with gravity sets your body up for health and longevity. Move your legs around! Reach and stretch! Yes, it is important to have your computer screen around eye-level to avoid the dreaded tech-neck, but constraining your sitting postures and legs to only 90 degree angles is a recipe for pain and suffering. And while you’re at it, ditch your shoes and stretch the tops of your feet. You’re working from home! Finally you can move your body and have a dance party whenever you like.
December marks twenty one months of remote learning, work from home, and a forever change in how we live and run our lives. Recognizing how challenging this time has been for students and their families, we are thrilled to help students - and their parents! - sit better and incorporate more movement into days filled with video calls at the computer.
